Philippines value of production
The Philippines National Statistics Office reports that the value of leather and leather goods production in the Philippines in January was 17.8% lower than in December and 38% lower than in January 2008.
In comparison, the Value of Production Index in the manufacturing sector in the Philippines in January was 24.2% lower month-on-month and 16.8% lower year-on-year.
The leather and leather products industry in the Philippines was operating at 83.4% of its total capacity in January, compared with 84% of capacity in the same month in 2008. In comparison, the Filipino manufacturing sector was operating at 77.7% of capacity in January, as against 80.2% of capacity in January 2008.
