Polish first-quarter production

Poland's Central Statistical Office reports that the production of cattle and calves for slaughter in Poland in the first quarter of this year totalled 46,800 tons, a year-on-year increase of 17.4%.
There were 23,000 people employed in Poland's leather and leather products manufacturing sector at the end of March this year, compared with 26,000 at the end of March in 2008. The average gross monthly wage in Poland's leather industry in March was US$539, a year-on-year increase of 6.8%.
