SRL celebrate supplier appreciation

Shanghai Richina Leather (SRL), a subsidiary of Richina Industries hosted a supplier conference at their Shanghai complex on June 12, 2009. The day's events included business updates, a review of strategic plans, and tours of the company's garment, automotive, and footwear leather operations. GST Autoleather, SRL's automotive leather partner, co-hosted the event.

The occasion included a keynote presentation by Richard Yan, managing director of Richina Inc, parent company of Richina Industries. Other presenters included Bob Moore, Richina Industries president and ceo, Weili Seng, managing director of GST-China, and SRL general managers Felix Lu and Kerry Brozyna.

Shanghai Richina Leather is the largest producer of garment leather in China, the second largest producer of car seat leather, and the fourth largest maker of footwear leather for the export trade in China. All told, SRL is the largest leather producer in the country and the only global leather facility producing all three leather types at one facility.

Attendees included Tyson's Foods, JBS Swift, Stahl, BASF, TFL, Lanxess and other key suppliers and partners to the SRL and GST Autoleather businesses. Over 100 persons attended the meeting. Toyota Motors had three of their latest Lexus and Toyota models on the factory floor that featured GST leathers. The day's events were ended with guests attending a performance of the Royal New Zealand ballet's version of Romeo and Juliet. The RNZB was in Shanghai during a China tour. BASF sponsored a reception for all SRL guests following the ballet.

SRL managers Lucy Dou, Hellen Xia and Joyce Yang served as the event planning committee, and were honored following the luncheon.
