PT Budi Makmur Jayamurni awarded ISO 14001
PT Budi Makmur Jayamurni (BMJ), a tannery located in the province of Yogyakarta, Indonesia have been awarded ISO 14001 certification.
The award was presented by the Institute of Environment Management System Certification - Jogja Environment Certification Assurance (LSSML-JECA) and was handed over by Ramelan Subagyo, board director of LSSML-JECA to Haryono Sutanto, the BMJ executive director.
The event took place in the last week of May was attended by 40 invited guests. To fulfill the environment management standard of ISO 14001, PT BMJ worked on accreditation for a year and intensively prepared the documentation of environment management system, internal capacity building for all employees, which resulted in a commitment from top down to consistently apply the environment management system sufficiently. By achieving ISO 14001, PT BMJ are aware of the continuous monitoring that is required to maintain the status.
