ICHSLTA to keep contract six unchanged
Following the 80th AGM meeting of the International Council of Hides, Skins and Leather Traders Associations in Shanghai on September 3 the council have decided to leave the contents of the International Contract number Six unchanged. The Chinese delegation had requested that the contract be changed but following opposition from the delegates from Australia, USA and France among others it was agreed to keep the contract unchanged.
‘We felt that the changes requested by our colleagues from China were already covered in the current contract', John Gorman, president of ASHLEA (Australian Skins Hides & Leather Exporters Association) and vice-president of ICHSLTA, told Leather International. The Chinese delegation presented three different suggestions at the meeting but in the end a vote for ‘no change' was agreed.
A total of 22 delegates attended the meeting which was held during the ACLE show in Shanghai, China.
