Derek Dickins, APLF director, was presented with a special award during the APLF 25th anniversary celebrations at this year’s show in Hong Kong. Dickins is credited as the founder of the show, which was originally called the Hong Kong Leather Fair when it was first established in 1984. It later became known as the APLF. Dickins, who was then managing director of the Hong Kong Trade Fair Group, credited the late Bill Carey with his initial support for the event when receiving his award from fellow APLF director, Michael Duck (left).
