Simon Paver has joined the BLC technical services team as chemical support and regulatory advisor. Paver, who graduated from the University of the West of England, Bristol, in 2005, obtained a first class honours degree in biological and medicinal chemistry with a final-year project focusing on the synthesis and analysis of complex antimicrobials.

Before joining BLC, he spent three years at AstraZeneca, Loughborough, UK, working as an analytical chemist in the R&D department. During this time he gained experience in a wide variety of analytical techniques, many of which are pertinent to BLC’s activities. Paver looks forward to utilising his analytical background and enthusiasm for problem solving and method development to expand and improve BLC’s testing capability, whilst delivering support on the key issues facing customers within the leather industry.
