Job losses imminent at DyStar
It is looking likely that no investor will be found to rescue the beleaguered German specialty chemical maker, DyStar. In a press release from the administrator dated November 30, job losses in all but one of the company’s plants will take place on December 1. This includes the leather chemical division located in Geretsried formerly known as Dr Th Boehme.
The preliminary insolvency administration of DyStar Textilfarben GmbH & Co. Deutschland KG today announced that all employees at the DyStar locations Frankfurt am Main, Leverkusen, Geretsried and Brunsbüttel will be released from work as from tomorrow. The exception is the Ludwigshafen plant where the production process for indigo remains open.
‘I’m sorry to say that there is no definite investor commitment at the moment’, explained the preliminary administrator Dr Stephan Laubereau. ‘However, the search for a suitable investor continues in December.’
