New Satra finance director
Following the retirement of Rob Morgan, Simon Botterill has been appointed Satra's finance director. Botterill has extensive experience of working at board level and has been responsible for a number of business areas including finance, human resources, estates management, administration and IT.
Botterill qualified as an accountant while working for his first employer, RDL Contracting, which operated in civil and structural engineering. Most recently he worked for seven years as director of finance and estates at North Hertfordshire College.
Botterill was born into a shoemaking family (W Botterill and Sons, which manufactured the Gola brand of sports footwear), and he spent many school holidays working in shoe factories.
‘Given my background, I am particularly delighted to have joined Satra in its work to support the footwear and consumer goods industries’, said Botterill. ‘I have found this to be an extremely professional organisation, and I am greatly enjoying working with the management team in further developing the service that we bring to our members and customers.’
