Pulcra acquire former DyStar site
Four months after production stopped following DyStar falling into administration the production location in Geretsried, Germany has a new owner it was announced on April 1. ‘Pulcra Chemicals have purchased the site, the facilities and the production means and they want to restart the production as soon as May’, says insolvency administrators of DyStar Miguel Grosser of the law firm Jaffe Rechtsanwälte Insolvenzverwalter and Dr Stephan Laubereau of Pluta Rechtsanwalts. ‘We are very proud to be able to present an investor after all this time. Against the background of difficult general conditions and heavy setbacks it was a very hard process to find a solution which gives all parties an edge.’
The sale avoids the environmental costs of disposing of the site and offers local workers and the community continued chemical production on the site.
‘Being a producer of process chemicals we have a client target group similar to the German DyStar company in Geretsried’, explains Dr Yusuf Aktalay, general manager, Pulcra Chemicals. ‘We can complement our supply chain and offer new services to our customers. That’s why we are very interested in investing in this location.’
The Geretsried site was the former production plant of leather chemical maker Dr Boehme which was acquired by DyStar and was not included in the recent sale of the business to Kiri Dyes and Chemicals Ltd from India. DyStar are to continue production of leather chemicals from other production sites located around the world.
