Stahl announce price rises
Stahl will increase prices for several of its leather finish and performance coatings products, effective June 1, 2010, or as contracts allow.
The increase is necessitated based on the escalation of raw material feedstock used to manufacture their products. Key suppliers significantly reduced capacity during the recent economic crisis. The current global demand associated with the ongoing economic recovery has led to short supply of raw materials, thereby creating the sharp increase in raw material costs. Furthermore, costs for packaging, transport and energy have also increased.
Stahl’s say that their primary responsibility is to maintain a steady supply stream to their customers and trading partners, but the current raw material crisis has made an increase in their prices unavoidable.
Stahl are a leading supplier of leather finishes and have strong positions in performance coatings with business units Permuthane and Picassian.
