Clariant increase prices of leather chemicals
Clariant’s Business Unit Leather Services, a leading provider of chemicals and services to the leather industry, announced on May 17 global price increases for its leather product portfolio.
The price adjustments are necessary to address strong rising feedstock costs in all raw material segments: petro, base and specialty chemicals, in the first half of 2010 as well as higher transportation and energy costs.
During recent months, Clariant´s Leather Business was able to offset significant cost increases through internal cost restructuring, however, recent raw material cost increases leave no other alternative than to raise prices.
Clariant customers will be contacted individually regarding the specifics of the price increases as they apply to their products.
