Patent leather is always in the fashion focus of shoe designers and manufacturers - sometimes more, sometimes less - but is always in demand. Therefore a great deal of effort has been put into the development of an aqueous alternative for the purely solvent-based patent top coats of the past. Clariant’s Melio 09-T-42 provides tangible benefits over other products currently available.
Melio 09-T-42, an aqueous aliphatic PU-dispersion, is distinguished by the following main characteristics:
- Aqueous top coat for patent leather imitation
- Brilliant, transparent and with a higher gloss
- Maintains leather softness
- Elegant touch
- NMP-free
- Reduced overall emissions
- Excellent flow and levelling properties, including faster drying times
- Very high physical properties
- No additives (eg casein/silicone) required
- Ideal for spray and rollercoater applications
