Stahl announce price increases

7 April 2011

Stahl will increase prices for several of their Leather Finish and Performance Coatings products, effective May 1 2011 or as contracts allow. This increase is based on the continuous escalation of prices of raw material feedstock Stahl receives from their raw material suppliers. The trend in which their raw material suppliers are incessantly increasing prices to Stahl have rapidly accelerated during the last couple of months and is a continuing trend.

Stahl say that they have no other option other than to pass on part of these increases to their own product prices in order to guarantee undisturbed supplies to their customers, which Stahl sees as its main responsibility. They have said that they do not enjoy doing so, but are forced to do so. The current levels of Stahl’s product pricing and the continuous increases they receive from their suppliers, together endanger the possibility to give their customers the service they want and are used to.

Stahl are one of the world’s leading suppliers of wet-end products, dyes and finishes to the leather industry and also have a strong position in supplying performance coatings under the Permuthane and Picassian product ranges.

Stahl say that they committed to investing in products, services and business development to meet the needs of its customers and to ensure a strong local presence in all regions and markets.
