Aqueous hydrophobing agent from Clariant
Worldwide
Published: 06 June, 2011
There are many leathers in the market which have been produced unfinished. Especially for shoes, but also for clothing and leather goods, where nubuck, split and suede leathers are widely used. For many of these leathers water drop resistance or water drop repellency is required.
By simply overspraying the leathers with Clariant’s new aqueous hydrophobing agent Melio WF-5246, a water dilutable, fluorinated polymer, high degrees of water drop repellency can be achieved. Melio WF-5246 has the following relevant properties:
- Very highly effective
- Suitable for finished and unfinished leathers
- Can be used for over sprays as well as for pre grounds
