BASF raise formic acid prices in some regions

Effective immediately, or as existing contracts permit, BASF are raising their prices for formic acid in Europe €80 per ton, in South America by US$80 dollars per ton and in Asia by US$50 dollars per ton.

BASF’s customers use formic acid in multiple applications including leather as it regulates pH values. Formic acid salts, the so-called formates, also serve as high-class de-icing agents and valuable auxiliaries in oil production. BASF is the world’s leading producer of formic acid, with production plants at its integrated Verbund sites in Ludwigshafen, Germany, and Nanjing, China.
