Apex president to attend WLC
The president of the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex- Brasil), Maurício Borges, has confirmed his participation at the World Leather Congress, on November 9, 2011, at the Hotel Sofitel, in Rio de Janeiro. Maurício Borges is confirmed at the opening session of the congress, with the President of board of directors of the Centre for the Brazilian Tanning Industry (CICB), Augusto Sampaio Coelho and the Executive President of CICB and President of The International Council of Tanners (ICT), Wolfgang Goerlich.
The main congress theme ‘Present and Future’, the World Leather Congress will bring together specialists from all sectors of the leather supply chain. This is an official event of ICT and will be jointly organised by CICB and Couromoda Trade Fairs. The World Leather Congress will follow the World Footwear Congress, an official event of the European Confederation of the Footwear Industry, which will take place on November 7-8, 2011.
All the panels and activities of the congress were planned based on the leather business issues, dealing with the present situation and what we may expect in the future of leather in footwear, automotive and luxury products. Over 30 experts (who all play an important role in the worldwide leather marketing chain from more than 20 countries) will be discussing the challenges and opportunities for the leather industry.
