Natuzzi move into Brazil

This is the company's first plant in south America, costing around L20 billion (US$9.2 million). The Brazilian investment is part of the company's plans to boost their presence not only in Italy but in other overseas countries as well. The plant will produce the Italsofa which will be distributed in the east of the US.

'The Italsofa plant, Natuzzi's first foreign-domiciled production facility, is the result of a programme agreement signed exactly one year ago with the State of Bahia during governor Cesar Augusto Rabello Borges' official visit to Santeramo in Colle', said Natuzzi general manager Gianni Massaro. 'Located in Salvador de Bahia's 73,000 square metre industrial zone, the 18,000 square metre factory is expected to employ 400 people and reach a maximum production capacity of 600 seats per day', he added.
