A new source for chromium sulfate
Chandal, the joint venture between Gruppo Chimico Dalton from Italy and Chun Chang Plastics of Taiwan, highlighted a new basic chromium sulfate product at Tanning Tech. Cromeco I 33 Extra is a basic chromium sulfate powder which is soluble in cold water.
When added to the tan liquor, Cromeco I 33 Extra provides a strong masking effect due to the sulfate ions, which allow greater stability during basification. The basifying solution must be added in a minimum processing time of 60 minutes in uniform doses or in a slow uninterrupted way.
During the tanning operation, there is no masking due to the decomposition of the anionic complexes of the chrome sulfate, acquiring cationic characteristics and a full tanning activity. Cromeco I 33 Extra also offers a mild initial tannage, even chromium penetration and distribution inside the leather and good exhaustion of the tanning floats.
The green powder is supplied in 25kg bags, has a pH of 3.0 +-0.3 in a 10% solution and storage life of six months. It must be stored in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight or water.
