Splitting evolution from Linta
Linta, in partnership with Fratelli Carlessi, were showing their new splitting machine which comes in four versions and five working widths. There are four models, one each for splitting in the lime, pickle, wet-blue and dry conditions. The working widths are: 1500, 1800, 2400, 3000 and 3200mm.
Splitting machines feature an exclusive safety device to protect the operator. The design of the splitter allows the construction of an independent beam which supports the blade guides. This moves automatically and immediately forward each time the machine opens. In this way, the cutting edge of the knife is protected. The knife itself does not change its working position so the grinding system is not affected.
When the machine is closed, the blade guides move back automatically to their preset working position. This simple solution has created total safety for the operator, eliminating the cutting hazard during maintenance and adjustment.
