French students design gloves
The current crop of students from the Institut Français de la Mode (IFM) in Paris have designed a series of leather gloves as part of their MA fashion course. The finished articles were on display at the Le Cuir A Paris exhibition held at the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles, April 15-16.
'The students were given an opportunity to work with a number of French glove makers to design gloves which incorporate leather. They were given an open brief when it came to the design', Isabelle Hédou-Beaufort, IFM fashion design coordinator, told Leather International.
IFM offer a small group of students from all over the world the opportunity to study various modules in fashion from design, to marketing and manufacturing their own articles.
There are five modules in total. Following a one-year course, each student spends three months working in a fashion orientated company.
