50th anniversary for Lederinstitut Gerberschule Reutlingen
On November 12, 2004, the Lederinstitut Gerberschule Reutlingen celebrated their 50th anniversary. The name Lederinstitut Gerberschule Reutlingen (LGR) is well known in the leather industry and combines education with practical research and quality inspection.
The ceremony was held in the new extension to the 50 year-old building and director Dr Heinz-Peter Germann, the delegate of the Ministry of Economics Dr Freidrich Bullinger and Lord Mayor Barbara Bosch accentuated the co-operation of the institute, the government department and the local population.
Patrick Zerhusen, CEO of the institute, emphasised the quality of LGR as a technical school with its material testing, applied research and development which affiliated foreign leather associations in Switzerland, Denmark, Sweden, Finland and Norway.
Dr Tilmann Taeger (TEGEWA), vice chancellor Dr Georg Obieglo and secretary general of Cotance Gustavo Gonzales-Quijano attended and Dr Germann undertook to enlarge advanced vocational and further training at LGR on an international basis.
