India International Leather Fair opens in Chennai
The 20th annual edition of the India International Leather Fair was held at the Chennai trade centre, Nandambakkam, Chennai, from January 31 - February 3.
The 2005 edition proved to be the biggest yet, in terms of area covered, range of products on display and turnout of visitors representing importers and buyers of leather and leather products. The fair showcased a comprehensive range of products and services related to the leather industry - machinery, footwear and shoe components, leather garments, fashion accessories, leather goods, and finished leather.
The fair covered a net area of 4800 sq m and attracted participation from 280 companies in 18 countries including Australia, Brazil, China, France, Germany, Italy, Spain UK and USA.
The show calendar included training sessions on use of SATRASUM software, footwear production planning and bioprocessing of leather. There was also a focus on publications and consultancy services related to the leather industry.
