Enthusiastic response to Madrid International Leather Week

The 14th edition of Sipiel, organised by IFEMA, will take place from April 1-3. Both the total number of exhibitors and exhibition area have increased on last year. International participation is up 18% on last year high with 184 companies represented, with Portuguese and Italian companies featuring prominently. International Leather Week comprises two international fairs, Modacalzado for the footwear sector, and Iberpiel Marroquineria for the leathergoods sector. Both will showcase collections for autumn/ winter 2005/6.

Iberpiel Marroquineria will be located in hall 4 and Modacalzado in 6,8,9 and 10 of the Juan Carlos Exhibition centre. Exhibitors at Modacalzado will include Miguel Mesquida, Mascarø, and New Rock. The Star Mark area will enable over 150 luxury brands to present their high quality footwear collections. Iberpiel Marroquineria will have a similar themed area called Bond Street featuring leathergoods by companies such as Miguel Bellido, DCM Argentona, Juana Llop and Munper.

Sipiel, part of the Madrid Lives Fashion programme, to raise awareness of the city's importance as a fashion centre, will also host a trends showcase featuring the latest in cutting edge design.
