UKAS for Yarwood
Yarwood Leather have received approval for their laboratories and leather testing facilities at their Leeds headquarters from the United Kingdom Accreditation Service. UKAS are the sole national accreditation body recognised by the UK government to assess organisations that provide certification against internationally agreed standards, testing, inspection and calibration services. Yarwood say they are the first UK leather industry company to achieve this.
Commenting on the company's success, Matthew Nicholls, technical director, said: 'Winning this approval is a further endorsement of our total commitment to achieving the highest possible quality levels for our products and services. Gaining the accreditation was a major undertaking by all those that were involved. It demonstrates our competence, performance capability and impartiality. The award is integral to ensuring that everything we supply conforms to the highest technical standards. Furthermore, we are now able to test and certify leather on behalf of retailers, furniture manufacturers, tanners and leather suppliers all over the world.'
