Argentina: 30 tanneries to relocate to Lanus industrial park

16 February 2022

Thirty tanneries in the Riachuelo de los Navíos basin will be relocated in 2023 to the Curtidor Industrial Park.

Construction began in 2019 on the park in the ACUBA neighborhood of Villa Jardín, and is already 95% complete. The tanneries could begin moving at the beginning of 2023 and the 30 leather treatment plants that plan to move are half of the 61 that the Matanza Riachuelo Basin Authority (ACUMAR) has registered.

An effluent and industrial liquid treatment plant is being built next to the park, where the sewage network phase began at the end of 2018. The work includes the construction of electricity, gas, and drinking water networks along with industrial processes, sewers, industrial and storm drains.
