BASF open service centre in India

The leather market in India is one of our most important prospective markets’, said Thomas Sattler, who is responsible for the global leather business at BASF. The new technical centre has been established in the best location to serve all major suppliers of the leather and garment industry throughout South Asia. ‘’The aim of this investment is to fulfill the growing demands of the market and to respond to the growth of the leather sector in India. This new technical centre will enable us to bring the global competence of BASF right to our customers’ doorstep and will help us to face the challenges of the future together with them’, said Prasad Chandran, chairman, BASF Group in India and head South Asia.

India is one of the most important growing markets for BASF’s leather business in Asia. Developing new finishes for leather and creating new fashion trends will be important priorities in the coming years. The new technical centre will help BASF to enhance their position in India. The whole of the business in South Asia will be managed by the head office of BASF India Limited in Mumbai.
