Boxmark Austria on short time

2 February 2009

Boxmark personnel chief Bettina Wanjasek said: ‘We have made changes in working hours and vacations and will reduce production in view of fewer orders for our products.' She added that Boxmark wanted to avoid lay-offs but cut production costs.

The firm put 300 workers at their facility in Jennersdorf, Burgenland, on part-time work last December and now plan to extend that by three months. Boxmark are one of the leading producers of high-quality leather for seats for cars and furniture.
