CBA in leather management and supply

A new course being offered by BLC Leather Technology Centre and Nottingham Trent University, the Certificate in Business Administration (Leather Management and Supply) - CBA - is a module-based course consisting of four core business modules and two leather electives. The CBA is an eight-month management development programme, designed by BLC and Nottingham Trent University, for people wishing to develop their management and business skills, acquire a greater understanding of leather and the leather industry and advance their career and personal development. The programme is not all theory. It is about gaining new tools skills and perspectives that can be applied directly to the workplace enabling tangible benefits to be delivered to the organisation. The CBA is accredited by Nottingham Trent University, one of the three largest universities in the UK. The university is ranked 'Excellent' for teaching quality (HEFCE) and has one of the highest employability ratings in the UK at 97%. The Business School is ranked in the top twenty UK Business School rankings (Guardian) and maintains a large network of business school links worldwide. CBA graduates can progress onto the Diploma in Management and the MBA. The CBA is designed for busy working professionals and consists of six modules. Each module kicks off with a two-day teaching workshop. This is followed by a five-week period of guided home study, which is supported by a study and reading pack, as well as a course mentor assigned to assist students with any questions and a website. Each module is assessed by a written work-based assignment. Specific skills developed through the programme will enable you to: Identify business trends and develop appropriate strategies for taking advantage of them; Gain an understanding of what makes a successful business; Develop your understanding of leather as a material and the global leather industry; Create a tool kit to sharpen your analytical and creative problem solving skills; Become a more effective, self confident member of the management team; Increase your value to your employer and your customers; Build a network of colleagues throughout the industry; Develop and advance your career by earning a CBA degree while continuing your full time employment. The CBA will commence with the first workshop on January 12-13, 2006, and students will complete their last assignment in late August/early September.
