Counterfeit shoes seized

17 December 2008

The raid was prompted by intelligence reports confirming the presence of the illegal goods illegitimately bearing brand names such as Nike, Adidas, Lacoste and World Balance.
The PASG team spot-checked all the stalls rented by businessmen Albert Wong and Willy King, who were not present during the raid.
The team found that the third to fifth floors were rented mostly by Chinese traders, who are believed to be involved in the marketing and trading of these counterfeit goods.
PASG head Antonio Villar Jr. ordered charges to be filed against Wong and King and their cohorts for violation of the Tariffs and Customs Code of the Philippines (TCCP) and Intellectual Property Rights Law (IPR).
