Death of Wanda Ferragamo Sparks Share Rise

2 November 2018

Wanda Ferragamo, widow of company founder Salvatore, died on 19 October and her death has market speculation for possible acquisitions and mergers for the company she refused to sell when it was floated on the Milan stock exchange in 2011.

Shares rose nearly 9% in Milan, to reach their highest in two years. Market analysts are saying the Florence based luxury label is an attractive target for mergers and acquisitions due to not only its high-end brand positioning, but also an immature retail network that has the potential for further expansion.
