Spokesman Marco Sampaio said that repairs to an electrical panel that caught fire on Saturday morning were delayed due to the holiday weekend, but slaughter operations — down on Saturday, Monday and Tuesday — will be up and running on Wednesday. Local fire officials said the fire had started at 5:15am Saturday in the plant's main utility building, which is separate from the slaughter facility. The cause is reported to be under investigation.
