Scotland: Muirhead wins Edinburgh conference centre contract

1 July 2013

Muirhead has been selected to supply their high performance, low carbon leather to the Edinburgh International Conference Centre (EICC).

When the EICC first opened in 1995 Muirhead supplied a vast amount of leather. The venue has recently been extended and BDP based in Glasgow led the project. Muirhead leather was selected once again and features on the furniture supplied by Boss Design in the café area.

In the heart of Scotland, the EICC is an outstanding venue for conferences, conventions and exhibitions and has won a number of awards including The Scottish Entertainment Awards - Scotland's Greenest Venue 2013, Association of Event Organiser (AEO) Excellence Awards and Scottish Event Awards 2012.

Muirhead sales director, Archie Browning, said: "The EICC is a fantastic venue and hosts a number of key international events in Scotland. It's great for guests of the venue to experience our high performance leather throughout and most recently in the café area."

Hans Rissmann OBE, EICC added: "Since opening in 1995 the EICC has built a global reputation for delivering exceptional customer service in a worldclass environment. In May our venue's capacity was been doubled with the opening of our outstanding new events space. Muirhead has supplied us with the best quality leather, to match the EICC's high-end facilities and we are delighted that the product comes from Scotland."
