Stahl colour forecast for spring-summer 2010

18 November 2008

The booklet presents two themes, ‘Bringing the unexpected to everyday!’ and ‘creating a sense of individuality!’ With fashion trends changing so quickly in today’s world, it presents designers and consumers with a creative vista of appealing ‘appetizers’ divided into six groups of colour, each with an individual feel.
The first, For your eyes only, is partly inspired by the anticipated launch of a new Bond film. The exciting world of the modern young woman, a hint of exotic chic, Mexican sun, Acapulco and luxury hacienda living are reflected in exotic colours from dreamy sunsets, desert dust and the warm glow of hacienda terracottas.
From a world of soft glowing colours, the next group plunges into the depths of Jungle Creation. The Amazonian rainforest and the richness of nature give rise to a chameleon-like range of brilliant warm saturated greens, blues, browns and purples providing a seductive interplay of shadow and light.
Just as the rainforest gives way to its rivers and the sea, so the next group of colours, Out of the Ordinary, is one of aquatic splendour. The colours: pinks, ochres and greens, give a kaleidoscope of translucent and bright lights that are reminders of a mystifying tropical underwater world with a feeling of glamour and airiness.
Out of the jungle, out of the water and back on land, the world of Iper Couture with its non-colours links with innovative design and architecture in mainly pastel colours that result in an almost mono look that is neutral, balanced and almost surreal. Gentle colours and effects are at the heart of this group.
Moving to deeper tones and still in a mood of gentleness, comes Simple in Purity. Basic tints, once again with most colours except green, give an impression of natural dyes obtained from fermenting grains alongside beige, browns and blues to evoke country life. There’s a feeling of linear and minimal aesthetic reminiscent of shaker craftsmanship.
From soft and gentle, the all powerful Hybrid Environment colours are a complete contrast. Vibrant, brilliant colours across the spectrum are inspired by cartoons and artistic spontaneity and in a wild imagination of playfulness, humour, energy and optimism. The whole group is one of primary colours that hit you right in the eyes.
Additional help for customers is provided by the inclusion of the closest Pantone Textile colour references for all the colours illustrated in the booklet.
