Students of creative leather technologies visit LANXESS’s leather chemicals

15 June 2018

In May 2018 the Leather business unit of specialty chemicals company LANXESS hosted students from the Institute for Creative Leather Technologies (ICLT) from Northampton University, UK, at its headquarters in Leverkusen.

“We are pleased to establish and maintain relationships with future leather experts,” said Dr. Thomas Brackemeyer, head of the Organic Leather Chemicals business line in the LANXESS’s Leather business unit.

“On this occasion we took a full year on board for two days that included lectures, presentations, handouts, brochures, articles and films.”

In crusting Tanigan, Retingan, Baygenal and Levotan products along with supporting leather “shows and tells” and recipes were in focus so that when the students return to the tanning and related industries they are well prepared to properly apply LANXESS’s products and technologies to achieve the best leather results.

“We believe this to be another positive step forward to building closer ties between LANXESS Leather chemicals and the University of Northampton,” Brackemeyer sums up the lecture visit.
