Tyson streamline through layoffs

16 November 2007

The streamlining initiative, entitled FAST, which stands for focus, agility, simplify and trust, was publicly announced earlier this year. No hourly production or maintenance jobs were affected. Those displaced by the latest round of layoffs will be eligible to apply for vacant positions at Tyson Foods. Tyson, who employ 104,000 people worldwide, last cut jobs in 2006, when 850 positions were dispensed with; half of these were vacant at the time. Source: [http://www.Meatingplace.com]
