On April 1, it will be 185 years ago that Albert Smit founded A Smit & Zoon. Since that time, the Dutch family business has expanded and, currently, the 7th generation (Marc Smit and Mrs Valerie Smit) is managing the company.
They recently held a celebration party for their employees and their partners. The celebration took place in a special location: the ‘Shipping Museum – Amsterdam’ illustrating a link with the company’s history.
The celebration was also to thank J M Smit for his strong efforts to expand the company and to wish him a nice retirement.
Relations have always been a key asset for Smit & Zoon and the personal bond they have with their agents and many of their customers is considered very valuable and something they are proud of.
Smit & Zoon have strong confidence in the future and are looking forward to expand in the next generation.
