Following extensive restructuring in recent years, BASF’s leather and textile chemical division will continue to provide customised solutions worldwide. ‘We have been improving our structures in the two businesses, and customers can now benefit from the global management combined with a strong regional presence’, states Dr Reinhard Leppkes, head of the global business unit performance chemicals for leather and textiles.
‘Furthermore, we will continue working closely with customers to develop innovative and sustainable solutions for the leather and textile industries’, explains Leppkes.
As of January 2008, the new global headquarters will be established in Singapore. Leppkes has a highly qualified, experienced team of leather and textile experts at his side. ‘Every member of the team will be working with one aim: to improve every day’, states Leppkes.

business unit includes chemicals for all wet-end and finishing processes in the leather and fur industries.
Leppkes will be joined by Thomas Sattler as head of the global businessmanagement leather and Jarnadhanan Ramanujalu as head of the global business management textiles.
