This exchange of information between Brazil and the European Union is promoted by the Brazilian Association of Companies of Components for Leather, Footwear and Manufactured Goods (Assintecal) and the Brazilian Association of Leather Chemists and Technicians (ABQTIC) with the support of the Brazilian Industrial Development Agency (ABDI) in partnership with the European Union. The EU funded project is part of the actions proposed by the Productivity Increase Program – New Technologies and the Overcoming of Barriers, designed to facilitate increased business opportunities between European and Brazilian companies.

BLC training will consider aspects of leather manufacture with an emphasis on cleaner technologies, environmental and ecological issues and the needs of the market with regard to ensuring that leather and leather products conform to restricted substances requirements.

In addition to the presentations, BLC will offer a series of one-to-one sessions to provide further information on subjects such as the EU REACH directive, an overview of restricted substances and other issues relevant to leather and footwear materials.
