Chinese leather industry set for ACLE

The Chinese leather industry in all its forms, from tanning, through chemicals and machinery, to manufacture of retail goods (such as shoes, bags, etc.) remains the market force driving the global industry. For all the talk about some ‘black hole’, into which the factories and workers who used to populate the likes of Guangzhou, Dongguan, and Shenzhen, had disappeared, China makes, trades and sells – be it raw material or high street retail – vast quantities of leather.

The facts speak for themselves, but the China Leather Industry Association’s Secretary General, Su Chaoying, ACLE is the most professional and recognised platform for the global leather industry to access China’s burgeoning domestic market. The exhibition provides the country’s largest variety of leather, components & accessories, manufacturing equipment and tools, machinery and technology and business services.

This year the ACLE will be held September 6 – 8 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre in the Pudong district of Shanghai.

Held once a year, it runs in conjunction with the finished products fairs China International Footwear Fair (CIFF) and Moda Shanghai. In 2009, a total of 14,354 buyers attended the 3 concurrent fairs.
