Latvia’s Light Industry Association says that half the shoes sold in Latvia are now imported from China, according to Baltic Business News. However, in value terms, Chinese shoes account for only a sixth of the Latvian shoe market. This is due to their generally low prices. Many Latvian shoe retailers are importing shoes directly from Chinese manufacturers.
