From June 20-22, the APCS (Asian Pacific Coatings Show) will be held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre in Malaysia. At Stand 29 the Clariant Divisions Pigments & Additives and Functional Chemicals will showcase innovations for coatings, paints, sealants, construction chemicals, and adhesives.
Concurrent with the trade fair, on June 21, 2006, Clariant will celebrate the official inauguration of its ASEAN Technical Application Centre (ATAC) in Shah Alam near Kuala Lumpur. The Technical Application Centre offers in-depth support for all questions about colourants and focuses on the requirements and process technologies in Asia. During the ‘Open House’ on June 22, visitors can tour the new facility. Clariant will organise transportation from the APCS to the Technical Application Centre upon request.
The new technology center is an expansion of the Clariant service laboratory, which was founded in 1999 and is known as the ‘ASEAN Pigment Technical Service Laboratory’. Due to the increasing interest in the service laboratory it quickly outgrew its capacities. To maintain the high quality of service and proximity to the customers, the Pigments & Additives Division decided to expand the facility and establish a technology center. The existing facilities moved to the new location at the end of 2005. Now eight technical consultants and laboratory assistants work at the Technical Application Centre, not only supporting customers in the selection and the proper application of colourants, but also organising training sessions for customers about properties and application possibilities for organic pigments. The center features state-of-the-art technical installations, and more equipment will be added in the next months.
