The awards were received by the senior-most ESHA employees from the company: Vasant Ghorpade and Subhash Joshi at the hands of the Chief Guest Shri Ram Vilas Paswan, the Minister of Chemicals & Fertilizers & Steel, Government of India, at an award function in June at Hotel Sea Princess, Mumbai.
The Citation for the awards read: Citation for Excellent Performance in Pollution Control – ‘Clariant Chemicals (India) Ltd, an ISO 9001:2000, 14001: 2004 and 18001: 2007 certified company, is the manufacturer of pigment dyestuffs and their dispersion, intermediates for dyes, pesticide and pharmaceuticals. The company originally established in 1956, along with other Clariant affiliates in India merged (April 2006) into the now rechristened company known as Clariant Chemicals (India) Limited.
Clariant Chemicals (India) Limited has Waste Water Treatment Plants facilities at their sites at Kolshet, Roha, Balkum, Kanchipuram and Cuddalore which have been commissioned due to their in-house development as per norms of respective State Pollution Control Boards, keeping cleanliness and safety as an important criteria. It has indigenously developed fluidized bed Incinerator for disposal of hazards solid & liquid waste and is strictly adhering to pollution control norms. Clariant Chemicals (India) Limited also has proper monitoring mechanisms for continuous improvement process (CIP) at sites. It imparts regular training to concerned personnel for continuous improvement.
In recognition of the above measures adopted by Clariant Chemicals (India) Limited, DMAI is pleased to confer the Award for Pollution Control for the year 2007-2008.’
