The 3rd Freiberg Collagen Symposium will take place from September 23-24, 2004.

Collagen and its upgrading products are components of a great variety of important goods: leather, gelatine for photographic, pharmaceutical and food applications; casings, hydrolysates, glues, cosmetic and pharmaceutical formulations.
For the next years, novel developments resulting from the production of recombinant collagens are expected. Collagen non-wovens serve as a base for tissue engineering, implants are biologised by collagen.
The organisers want to invite industrial and scientific specialists involved with collagen production and processing to take part in this symposium.
The symposium is aimed to provide an overall view of novel product developments, applications, and problems connected with collagen processing and products made of this protein.
New scientific findings and experience gained with novel investigative methods should be presented and discussed.
