The organisers of Le Cuir A Paris, the Sic Group, have formed a new partnership with l’Institut Francaise de la Mode (IFM) who will be presenting twelve international designers during the April 15-16 salon at the Porte de Versailles exhibition centre.
They have the support of the French Tannery Federation, represented by companies Andrè Hiriar and Tannerie de Villefranque among others. Through them Le Cuir A Paris has procured leather for IFM students and allowed them creative freedom.
Daniel Ledermann (Switzerland) and Barny Nakhle (Lebanon) present dresses in sumptuous leathers. Tuomas Merikoski (Finland) pairs crisp leathers with avant-garde basketball sneakers and uses deer skin for skirts. Chrystel Fischer (Belgium) designed boots inspired by Pierre Cardin’s logo. Tan Hung Yu (Taiwan) has explored the ambiguity between transparent plastic and patent leather for a shoe that could also be a bag.
Other designers are: Christine Phung (France), Elena Cardona (Spain), Jonas Van Avermaet (Belgium), Mauro Durant (Venezuela), Min Lu (China), Pablo Coppola (Italy/Argentina), Sadaharu Hoshino (Japan).
