Italian machinery manufacturers, Dueffe, obtained the designs and property rights for a number of tannery machines in September. The rights had previously belonged to Gemata and Gipra. Dueffe are now a fully-fledged manufacturer of tannery machines as well as a second hand equipment and machinery servicing provider.
The Ficini company sold the original designs to the Rizzi Group and then on to Gemata and Gipra as part of the now defunct Poletto Group. Franco Ficini, head of Dueffe has now reacquired the rights. The Dueffe made machines include the following:
RASA 1300 & 1500
This rotary wool clipping machine has been upgraded by Dueffe and is aimed at woolskins tanners who wish to trim the height of the wool on their skins. The machine is available in two sizes and operates with a belt speed between 0.5m and 20m per minute.
Flexa 1300 & 1600
A staking machine for sheep and goatskins available in two sizes. It can be used on small slink skins up to full sized lamb and sheepskins.
Stira 700
An ironing machine for doubleface sheepskin producers. The new machine combines the former Gemata-Ficini throughfeed ironing technology with new developments made by Dueffe. It has a working width of 700mm.
Stira 1200
Following development work carried out by Gemata and Ficini a new combined ironing and tipping machine has been developed. Dueffe have now resurrected the machine, which is aimed at tanners of woolskins. The Stira 1200 is capable of ironing and acid wetting the wool simultaneously. It has a working width of 1200mm.
