East Hides Group, the prolific hide and skin traders based in the UK, are about to lay the foundations for their second tannery in Kazakhstan, this time in the south of the country. They already own a tannery in northern Kazakhstan.
East Hides are also opening an office in Shanghai which will operate as their main base in China. The group already have offices in Guangzhou and Wenzhou but plan to establish offices for each province. They say leather processing in China is moving inland as the eastern seaboard increasingly suffers from labour shortages.
