Slovakia’s Statistical Office reports that Slovakia exported hides and skins, and leather and leather products, worth US$92 million in the first seven months of this year, a year-on-year increase of 19.7%. Slovakian imports of the same types of commodities in the January to July period were 0.1% lower year-on-year at US$174 million.

Serbia’s Statistical Office reports that Serbia exported leather and leather products worth US$104 million in the first eight months of this year, compared with US$85 million in the same period last year. Serbian imports of the same types of commodities in the January to August period were worth US$146 million, as against US$116 million in the corresponding period in 2005.

Hungary’s Central Statistical Office reports that Hungary imported leather and leather products worth US$181 million in the first seven months of this year, a year-on-year decrease of 8.1%. Hungarian exports of the same types of commodities in the January to July period were 17.7% higher year-on-year at US$93.9 million.

Jordan’s Department of Statistics reports that Jordan imported raw hides and skins, and leather, worth US$417,948 in the first seven months of this year, compared with US$891,107 in the same period in 2005. Jordanian exports of the same types of commodities in the January to July period were worth US$4.4 million, as against US$3.7 million in the corresponding period last year.
