TFL have published their latest forecast of fashion colours for leather for the autumn/winter season, 2003/4. The forecast, which is produced in association with Italian designers Carmen Rimoldi and Sergio Belloni, comes 18 months in advance of the retail season.
The colour preferences are divided into the usual categories: Elegant, Classic and Sport. Styling directions, as well as general fashion considerations, are included.
Elegant shades are almost ethereal and likened to a water-colour painting. There is a predominance of new blues which in all their shades evoke images of peace and tranquillity. Stronger shades, such as orange and warm yellow, give a more intense effect.
Classic colours embrace yellow ochre and cognac with a hint of brick red. Iron grey has a bluish overtone, making it important for this season.
Sport includes bright tones of green and red combined with toned-down colours of beige and purple make for unusual combinations. Mustard yellow is also evident and deep blue contrasts with the bright colours in this palette.
The forecast is published twice yearly, in February and August. For more information contact your local TFL partner or look at [http://www.tfl.com]
