A style guide entitled ‘Fashion and colour inspirations’ which includes article trends for spring-summer 2008 alongside colour trends for spring-summer 2009, has been distributed to TFL’s clients. The forecast takes its inspiration from a well-shaken cocktail of flavours, travel and joie de vivre, with a generous dose of irony and mischievousness, but above all, the essential ingredient is plenty of soul. In recent seasons we have witnessed a tendency to favour our needs for indulgence, where the dining table becomes a meeting place. Many fashion designers and brands have installed restaurants and cafés in their shops, places for social happenings and other events. A complete service for the client, a boost for image as well as for business, where customers can both shop and relax, while eating and drinking in a place where even the air is designed. TFL decided to analyse recent trends, dividing them into three concepts that are ways of life, a sign of evolution and change: a mix of art, cuisine, fashion and interior design, of craftsmanship and progress, of technology and nature.
Chic
A harmonic and natural world, invaded by the warm and fascinating colours of plants. A strong reference to the volume of trees and to their unstable perfection. Abstract geometry mixing with perfect modular shapes. Basic colours conveying quiet and pureness, but taking us back to the ´60s when combined with green and violet. Inspirations include abstract geometry and bubbly honeycomb embossing.
Classic
A world deeply inspired by the colours of Mediterranean beaches, where the strong appeal of the sea combines with the period of figurative arts. Flaming and almost primary colours convey strength and energy, but drive us towards a measured chromatic indiscipline through creative and post-futuristic combinations, daring with creative couplings. Inspirations include zigzag movements and blatant contrasts.
Casual
A robotic and static world, colours of this range reflect the cold light of pixels and deformed effects. Unusual combinations remind us of new forms of mimicry. Iron grey cuts these colours and makes them matchable, while deep yellow inflames them gives a dazzling light with psychedelic effects. Geometric camouflage and jigsaws and collages are key inspirations.
